Zuma is the Japanese-inspired restaurant managed by the same people as Roka and La Petite Maison. It’s all about glitz and big spending at this Knightsbridge eatery; celebrities like the Beckhams and Beyonce and Jay Z are often seen snapped on their way out.
There are several other branches around the world, in Miami, Hong Kong, Dubai and Bangkok among others. The London outpost may be loosely modelled on an informal izakaya, but diners are well-heeled, with many eating here for a certain status to rub off on them.
There is a robata grill, a very good selection of sushi and sashimi, and signature dishes that include miso marinated foie gras and wagyu beef with cress aioli.
