just a random boozer. nothing special about beers. The beef burger I had was bland an undercooked. my friends had fish and chips (very bad "hand-cut chips) and a chicken burger (dry is a compliment).
The staff is rude.

I was passing by the pub asnd I heard the singing and it was really very good, so I popped in for a pint and ended up staying to closing time. Great entertainment in a traditional sort of way, a nice, if somewhat aged crowd and a very friendly landlord and bar lady. All in all a nice surprise find and a good light hearted evening

I visited the Od Ivy House with my friends two weeks ago for the first time , We were made to feel very welcome, the live music was good as was the vocalist, if you wanted to sing on stage you could. The average age range of customers was from 50yrs up to 100. It is not a big pub quite small really but it did not stop the customers from getting up and dancing.
The govenor was a very friendly man who came over to out table and had a chat, we enjoyed it so much that my friend who will be 89 on Saturday is having her birthday celebration in there.
The only real down side is the ladies toilets they are spotless but up a flight of stairs, although the govenor did explain to us he has the builders booked to split the gents toilet in two so he has a ladies and gent toilet in the bar.
Have your say
