The Sherlock Holmes Museum which only opened in 1990, is housed in an 1815 house similar to the 221B house described in Doyle’s books. In actual fact there was no number 221b at the time that the Sherlock Holmes stories were written as Baker Street ended at number 100!

The museum displays exhibits in period rooms, wax figures and Holmes memorabilia. The house was last used as a lodging house in 1936, the famous 1st floor study overlooking Baker Street is still maintained as it was kept in Victorian Times.

Way better than an evening in front of TOWIE

Located at 221b, Baker Street, The Sherlock Holmes Museum is a relic to the writing of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his most famous character. Anybody who has ever had even the most fleeting interest in the brainiac detective should visit this recreation of his abode just to say they’ve been there and done it.
