The best dry cleaner in town and Ali always has time for a warm, friendly, witty chat. He's patched and mended endless items of clothing and when I urgently needed a random kind of cloth protective cover thing I knew exactly where to go and he didn't disappoint. He never does.

Having struggled to find a local dry-cleaners with a competent alterations specialist I literally stumbled on Royal Dry Cleaners a few years ago and from that time I haven't needed to look or go anywhere else since. The cleaning service is always A1 and having built up a proper understanding of what I exactly want, I never worry about anything connected with the cleaning, tapering or shortening of my garments. Mistakes happen. When they do you have to sort them out, not deny all liability. After being a regular for around 6 months, I discovered they'd completely ruined a pair of my wife's trousers. The manager's father (who works there occasionally) denied all liability but said that I should take it to another dry cleaner, get their opinion, and come back. Verdict: they'd 'cooked' the trousers (heat too high). I went back, was reluctantly verbally offered compensation, and agreed to wait until the following week when the manager 'had some cash'. 2 days later he called and told me he wasn'

Ali and his team are always very friendly and helpful but recently they really surpassed all expectations: I have a gorgeous powder blue, pure silk Karen Millen top. After I covered it with mulled wine and mustard (both got fixed there) I messed it up with quite a few red feltpen stains. Ali saying "ah, the blue top again" and looking sceptical but then saying he would try but can't promise. And god did he try! I now have it back - he soaked it over and over again in some magic substance for about 3 month (!!!) and now it is like new again. These guys truely go the extra mile for you!
