I have now visited this post office twice and on both occasions have been served by the same rude obnoxious and unhelpful male employee
I went to the post office to weigh and post packages, I brought my own stamps along and explained this to him, this was an issue it appears as he actually had to put his brain into gear and use basic math to inform me of exactly how many stamps to use to post each parcel......you would have thought I was not giving the post office service money for not buying the stamps at the actual post office, unless I am mistaken it doesn't matter where the stamps are bought it all goes back into the same service!
In both cases he has actually overcharged me but feels as I am using my own stamps that this fact it is not important!even when I pointed out this fact he was still unhelpful and dismissive of me like I was wasting his time! I have always previously used one stamp under the actual price and paid the excess to make up the full price, however this logic was lost on him, and at the time the last thing I wanted was to stand and argue with someone that treats customers with such contempt especially when the post office itself was filling up and they still only had three windows open!
I will be looking for a new post office to use and will use this post office only in dire emergencies!! Avoid if you can!!
The cash point outside is also unreliable and taken money without dispensing it, therefore left in the situation of having to get bank to investigate where it has gone!!

I went to the post office to have my biometrics done and i went expecting the worst based on the reviews on this page but i experienced a total opposite. I went around 4pm so the queue wasn't too long. the staff were so friendly and i thought surely i must have come to the wrong place. i got to the head of the queue in 10 minutes and realised that i didn't even have to queue. I didn't mind though as i was chatting to the lady ahead of me about her dogs and cats. Was a nice experience in all. The man who took my biometrics was funny and extremely nice.

The service is absolutely appalling. Queues are consistently huge and it takes forever to get served. There is no help desk of any sort just to get simple advice on how to use self service or quickly buy envelopes to use this service. This means you have to wait in the huge queues regardless of what you are doing in the post office. Having seen the large number of negative reviews already placed for this post office it would seem they are being ignored, as the standard of service provided remains well and truly abysmal.

I work in Old Street and everytime I need to go to the Post Office, I just lost half of my break. Usually I would have to wait between 25 and 35 minutes. Unacceptable.
It is quite busy so they should have more staff.
Apart from the long queu I must say the the staff is very friendly.

I totaly agree with the previous comments, my first visit was 2 weeks ago, this is one of the main post offices and the end of the queue was just about outside the door, it was overcrowded and claustrophobic, I waited over half an hour before being served and then had difficulty hearing what the teller was saying through the plastic screen, altogether unfriendly and unhelpful (Could have been the breast pest as he seemed to be more interested in looking rather than listening) if possible this is one I will avoid.

This has got to be the worse post office in London ( and i have used lots), the service is beyond poor and the staff are very, very rude. Here is a basic breakdown:
Overcharging customers:
a £3.40 parcel at old st will cost £2.89 at any other post office.
Poor customer service:
One cashier always looks at customers cleavages as he serves them whilst talking to their breasts.
The guy selling insurance at the entrance replys "its your loss" when turned down from his constant hassling of customers.
One cashier ALWAYS overcharges, then embarasses customers when questioned.
Another cashier was heard saying "what a brat" when customer walked out (due to her mistake).
Really, i could go on forever how bad this post office is, please take my advice, use another post office because this has got to be the worst in london.
