Hurlingham Park

Park in

Hurlingham Park is the home of local football team Fulham F.C as well as the Hammersmith and Fulham Rugby Football Club. Its other claim to fame is appearing in a Monty Python sketch entitled ‘The 127th Upper Class Twit of the Year Competition from Hurlingham Park’. Athletics events are sometimes staged here too, however the racing track is rarely used. Sporting activities aside the park is mostly used by people walking their dogs or merely going for a stroll. The stadium used to be able to seat around 2,500 people before being demolished to make way for a pavilion. The park, which first opened in 1879 has also had a previous incarnation as a polo playing field along with a grandstand.
