My first time at this pool and not sure what to expect after seeing the other reviews. I found the staff very helpful and friendly.
Although the facilities were old, I thought they were very clean. The pool itself was clean with three very wide lanes making it easy to swim.

ok, so this pool gets a bad time in most online reviews. but having used it now for a couple of weeks i have to say that i quite like it. it;s nowhere near the smartest, cleanest or newest pool in London, but if you're into just lane swimming then you can't go far wrong.

I've newly moved into the neighborhood, and thought I'd try Ladywell Leisure Centre's swimming facilities.
The staff were neutral, not overly helping or rude, so they were ok. However, I was simply schocked and disgusted by the state of their changing rooms (I only saw the female changing room) and the pool itself. First thing that hit me was the heat and the strong smell of urine. There was a male cleaner in the room mopping away some water, but it hardly helped against all the grime, mold and dirt that was stuck in the floor and walls.
Still, I reckoned that "Ok, maybe the pool will be alright."
And again, I was wrong. Filthy and dirty. The swimming lanes were a mayhem, and while I was doing my laps, the life guards kept removing the lanes so everything just turned into a big playpool for kids. People kept swimming against eachother, and the staff didnt seem to want to maintain the site at all.
This is the first time I've actually felt really dirty after using a swimming facility.
Nope, never again. To be constructive; CLEAN THE PLACE UP!

I took my 7 month old baby swimming and was shocked at how dirty the changing rooms and pool area were. The staff were very friendly but I wouldn't take my baby swimming there again.
Have your say
