The Magic Circle is the name of a society founded by a group of twenty-odd magicians in 1905. Their aim was to promote their craft and presumably share tips on magic tricks. Their headquarters near Euston is where the society still holds regular meetings as well as performances, and some of the rooms are available for private hire – weddings and birthday celebrations have taken place here. The museum is filled with curious artefacts, such as the handcuffs used onstage by Harry Houdini, and there is also a library, with over 6,000 books devoted to the subject of magic. Two-hour tours of the museum and the entire headquarters can be booked at a cost of £15, but entry to the museum is free.

Way better than an evening in front of TOWIE

Take all you learned from your Paul Daniels Magic Kit and put it into practice at The Magic Circle Museum in Euston. It’s tiny – standing room for only 35 – and with exhibits like Harry Houdini’s handcuffs and rabbit in hat spoilers, who could resist? The website says “perfect for anniversaries…” and who can argue with that – after all, isn’t love just magic?! Da-daa!!
