Every Saturday this food market offers fruit and veg, food to go and deli items like preserves and cheeses. It’s a community project, with the majority of the producers living locally, while all products sold are organic, coming from small farms in the south east of England. It’s not-for-profit and run by volunteers, with projects like the Patchwork Farm who invite people to bring produce from their own allotments, gardens and window boxes to sell, like honey made from locally foraged dandelions for example. Regular stallholders include breadmakers Brockwell Bake, Mootown, run by a couple who make cheese in a railway arch in Bermondsey, and Perry Court Farm, who sell herbs and vegetables. There are stalls on rotation ensuring frequent visitors will always have something new to browse, whether it’s tapas, soul food, quiches, or galettes.
