London's best shops in the touristy areas
These places are well worth a look
Stanfords is the world's biggest travel bookshop, and the shop in Covent Garden's Long Acre has been around since 1901. Not only do they do sell all the usual guides from Lonely Planet and Dorling Kindersley, they also stock a huge array of maps from all over the world. Even better, they will create maps specifically for your next walk, gap year or global adventure.

Stanfords is just an awesome shop for all things travel. If its not travel books (and I don't mean just guides) then it's the maps that inspire you.
If you want some inspiration for a trip, visit this shop!

Walking into Stanfords is a travel-lover's dream. The ground floor is an array of guides, picture books, diaries and posters - not to mention a host of travel essentials like miniature games, post cards, pouches and wallets.
Across the other floors, you'll find guides covering the world over - and I've lost count of the amount of times I've parked up on the carpet to thoroughly check my potential purchase, to make sure I'm happy with the content.
Maps and atlases are also available en mass.
The service is friendly and the staff seem to know a lot about their travel products the
