Veeraswamy, UK's oldest Indian restaurant in Piccadilly, has been the rendezvous of the famous and fashionable as well as lots of ordinary lovers of Indian food since its inception in 1926. The luxurious, chic, and exotic décor evokes Maharaja's palaces of the 1920s. A menu of classical dishes from throughout India is combined with more contemporary creations. National Geographic, the highly respected travel magazine, has ranked it as one of the 10 Best Destination Restaurants in the World. No other UK restaurant is in this top 10 list.

Children:
Lunch - Children of all ages are welcome at lunch
Dinner - Children under the age of 3 are not allowed at dinner. Children between the ages of 3 & 10 are allowed up to 8pm, and will therefore need to be seated not later than 6.30pm.

If you're out on the town and in the mood for a Ruby then be sure to refer to our list of London's best.

The UK's oldest Indian restaurant specialises in classic dishes from all over India, so expect biryanis, rogan josh and vindaloos among many others. Meats are slow cooked for maximum flavour, and Veeraswamy also boasts a super-chic dining room.

Can you take the heat?

This is the UK’s oldest Indian restaurant and one of London’s most refined, but that hasn’t stopped them from producing sweat-inducing curries like the roast duck vindaloo. That being said, the slow-roasted duck in sweet, hot and sour vindaloo masala is as complex in flavour as it is fiery.

This is one of ours top Indian resturants. Food is excellent, service is professional and setting is great. Not the cheapest so don't go if you're looking for good and reasonable. But if you're going for great and excellent then this is for you.

Food is average. The ambience is nothing special - Certainly not one of London's best!

Overpriced. Quality not as good as it makes out.
