All In London Review

Hip Shoreditch cafe/bar/gallery with Bitcoin and 3D printing on site.

Review Image
The Old Shoreditch Station has had a range of different looks over the years but its current café/gallery/bar makes the most sense. Gone is the shop that was once next door and in its place is a 3D printing studio, which along with the in-house Bitcoin currency station, is a nod to its belonging to creative collective Jaguar Shoes. Aside from Bitcoin and the work of futuristic object creation, the place is a café by day, bar by night and full time gallery space.

White walls, fresh tiles and mirrors make a chic backdrop for the artwork and other alternative fittings to do their thing. The chandelier that hangs in the middle is an impressive focus and the plants that snake around it lend the space something of a terrarium feel. The window seating that looks out onto Shoreditch High Street is the top spot in the bar and you’ll find sofas and armchair seating in the back room. The Old Shoreditch Station is in one of the busiest nightlife spots around so you’d be right to expect that it gets busy. DJs play in the evenings on weekends and it stays full all night, attracting a broad clientele from locals to Shoreditch one-nighters.

The café serves a coffee blend by Redchurch and beers on tap include Erdinger, organic pale ale and a craft stout. There is also an impressive whisky collection on the shelves for those who prefer the short and the strong. Covering all the bases, The Old Shoreditch Station is a sound place to invest your time and one that’s likely to land you some fun at weekends when the sun’s gone down.
