To mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, acclaimed light artist, Chris Levine and Britain’s eponymous luxury goods brand, Asprey, are creating a new work based on his celebrated portraiture of the Queen, to mark 60 years of the reign of HRH, Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen’s diamond diadem, worn by Her Majesty for the procession to her Coronation in 1953, features within the installation and has been recreated by Asprey. Working from Levine’s seminal portrait of the Queen “Equanimity” created in 2004 and commissioned by The Jersey Heritage Trust, 1000 white brilliant cut diamonds are being painstakingly set in platinum by Asprey’s exacting craftsmen and overlaid onto the original, three dimensional image of Her Majesty to create a highly original luminescent artwork of this special time in history.
