Upstairs at Nancy's, a curious space can be found... A London courtyard and a room with a view, (albeit of Shoreditch High Street), which offers sanctuary far from the madding crowd.
Located atop Shoreditch’s most recently revived public house, here London’s brewers, distillers, vintners and cocktail barrellers provide the only street drinking worth doing this winter.
Nancy's is at once a welcome retreat for the weary, a den for the devilish, and a corner of lamplit London above a neon world below.
Expect to find Borough Wines, Kamm & Sons, Butler's, Boodles, Sipsmith, The Botanist, Five Points, Partizan & The Kernal among many other excellent choices on our drinks list.

All In London Review
Part speakeasy, part dining hall... and part Marks and Spencer Christmas advert
Located in a compact upstairs room above the Crown and Shuttle, Nancy’s is one of those concept bars. It’s part speakeasy, part dining hall, and weirdly, part Marks and Spencer Christmas advert – you know, those ones where they go to a picturesque town and gad about in snow in front of beautiful fake shop fronts? No? Just us then. Anyway, remember the ads or not, at Nancy’s, that’s what it’s like. Because at Nancy’s, inside this first floor bar, the walls aren’t walls at all, they’re beautiful fake shop fronts. And while there’s no fake snow on this occasion, there’s plenty of gadding about to be done after two bottles of 6.9% Weird Beard Saison.
A tiny bar serves cocktails, beers, wine and some London spirits. The well-curated beer list puts together Five Points Brewing, Partizan Brewing and the previously mentioned Weird Beard Saison with Meantime Lager on draught. Cocktails are a toss up between the Nancy and the Negroni, while the wine comes from barrels provided by Borough.
Special food menus will be created for large bookings and special events, while for the rest of the time the likes of veal burgers, homemade sausage rolls, Welsh rarebit rolls and venison and cranberry flatbreads should keep guests satisfied.
Despite meriting only limited space on top of what has become one of the busiest pubs in the area, Nancy’s feels like a separate world from what’s below. Apothecary overkill or not, Nancy’s is definitely a bar worth sampling.
