It's that spooky time of year again, so as well as having your carved-out pumpkin in the window and a bottomless pot of loose change and sweets for the "little darlings" (there's probably a better way to describe them) that come-a-knocking at your door, we've come up with a list of the best spooky activities in London this Halloween:
- Visit some of the most haunted areas of London:
- Tower of London - the Ghost of Anne Boleyne, the unfortunate wife of King Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I has been regularly seen here at what is thought to be one of the capital's most haunted buildings
- Westminster Abbey - a ghostly Benedictine Monk has been spotted gliding through the passages and halls of the abbey around two feet above the floor
- Theatre Royal in Drury Lane - the figure of a tall man in a grey cloak has often been reported by various actors and crew at the famous London theatre
- Take a Ghost Walk
There are many to choose from in London that take you around all of the capital's spookiest areas with the help of a guide, here's one to get you started see more here
- Take a Spooky Halloween Canal Tunnel Trip
Specially Decorated Community Narrowboats will be operating this spooky event with scary music on Sun 29th Oct and Tuesday 31st October 2006 from the London Canal Museum see more here
- Regress to the age of 8 and go "trick-or-treating":
Many of today's children are strapping 6-footers and so nobody will be any the wiser if you don a cloak and mask and go around asking people for money and sweets. This is a great source of beer money if you've forgotten to stop at the cash-point on the way home.
There’s plenty more Halloween events available, just click on All In London’s What’s On Calendar on the 31st October to see what’s taking place.
Have a great Halloween!!
