The All In One Ultimate Restaurant List Interview: Cameron Emirali

London’s Top 100 Restaurants 2013

Chef Patron Cameron Emirali’s previous job was at the hip Wapping Food, which he left in 2012 to open 10 Greek Street. This Soho restaurant follows a now familiar formula for the area: 30 covers, no bookings for dinner and affordable prices. With a menu of British and Mediterranean-inspired food, it’s been a hit since its inception. Emirali believes this is because diners want value for money and to eat in relaxed, friendly environments. “We first started planning in December 2011, but we (myself and restaurant manager Luke Wilson) have both always dreamt of opening our own restaurant.”

He lists his favourite places to eat as Barrafina and the downstairs bar at Hawksmoor Spitalfields, and says that London has “the most exciting restaurant scene in the world, so much going on, constantly evolving and improving.” His most formative experience was working at Noosa in his native Australia, where he was an apprentice under head chef and owner Gary Skelton.
