A part of the Soul2Soul Collective, singer S.E.L is just about to release her new single Dangerous with Fugi Roc. A London native, she started out singing in a choir before being given her big break by Jazzie B himself. Having played venues like Ronnie Scott’s and performed on Later with Jools Holland, her star is on the rise. S.E.L took a break from promoting her new single to give us her nightlife guide to London. From Lebanese restaurants to a famously intimate soul bar, these are S.E.L’s London favourites.

Restaurants

Aldar
Aldar is an amazing Lebanese restaurant with friendly staff and great food – plus you get the sweet smell of shisha on its doorstep! I just love its authentic vibe, I spend hours here on an evening.

Capital Restaurant
This has been a family favourite since it opened. It’s authentic Turkish cuisine at its best.

Monkey Nuts
This place is the place among North Londoners of my generation. It’s always busy, the food is great, the staff are sooo friendly and build relationships with all the customers. You’re always guaranteed to see someone you know in there! Try the beef ribs or chicken wings!... Simply amazing! X!

Bob Bob Ricard
Not much to say except simply sublime. The food is like no other, the drinks are creative and innovative and the staff are courteous and top class. And you can order champagne from your table by pressing a button!

Bars

Jewel Bar
If anyone asks you for a lovely bar to go to in London, with a great vibe, Jewel Bar is always at the top of my list of recommendations. The management know me there, love my music and I am always treated well – maybe that has something to do with it! But I am a cocktail fanatic and the bar staff are so creative there. Masters of the craft.

The White Rabbit
This place is an authentic, old skool cocktail bar. The food is great, the cocktails are phenomenal, the staff are so friendly. It’s a really laid back bar so it's a great place to go to meet up with friends. The music in this place is the best I have heard in a while too. It ranges from 80's/90's soul and R n' B and I find myself singing along to every tune... Love it!

Cuba Libre
Although it’s classed as a restaurant, I go here for the great bar at the back of the restaurant. The mojitos are unlike any other I’ve tasted, and the authentic Latin Caribbean vibe is great.

Clubs

Back to 95
It’s been running for such a long time and each one's always better than the last. Tailor-made for my generation, it’s old skool, garage and RnB. The next one is back on Boxing Day with DJ Spoony and Mikee B (Dreem Team) heading up festivities at Club Colosseum in Vauxhall. Can’t wait!

Ronnie's Bar at Ronnie Scott’s
Ronnie’s Bar is the upstairs venue in Ronnie Scott’s. It’s dedicated to the hardcore soul heads! Love it!

S.E.L’s new single ‘Dangerous’ with Fugi Roc is released on Bournehill Music at the end of October.
S.E.L is also part of Soul2Soul Collective and you can catch them live on Friday November 8th at Koko, Camden Town.
