The landmark team at Cheyne Walk Brasserie, a french gem tucked away in the heart of Chelsea, have partnered with Hackney’s marvellous Meringue Girls to bring a French twist to afternoon tea.
The restaurant have sprinkled their french magic on the afternoon tea experience, updating the British centuries-old ritual with little Provençal touches alongside mouthwatering kisses that look too pretty to eat.
Afternoon Tea at Cheyne Walk comprises of three tiers of delicate fancies inspired by the Brasserie’s French heritage, accompanied by a glass of Champagne Thiénot Brut and choice of twelve teas. Guests who book will be seated upstairs to while away the afternoon in a luxurious but relaxed setting with chaise lounges, tiffany blue decor and views of the River Thames.
British staples, scones and sweet pastries, have been given a french twist with freshly prepared Brioche with strawberry jam and pain aux raisins. The final serving includes unique, melt-in-your-mouth meringue from the Meringue Girls including flavours such as ‘Cheyne Chocolat’ (chocolate), ‘French Martini’ (raspberry) and ‘La Vie en Rose’ (pistachio and rosewater), all exclusive names to the Brasserie. Of course, it wouldn’t be a French interpretation of afternoon tea without skillfully made chocolate éclairs and apricot and almond tarts.
The offering includes a selection of dainty finger sandwiches; Ham hock and homemade dijon mustard, Mediterranean vegetables with pesto and Smoked salmon with chive cream cheese.
