It’s A Menu Makeover To Amour At Café Rouge

British Bistro Brand Begins Its Love Affair With Paris All Over Again

Café Rouge reveals its exquisite new menu as the first step in re-launching Britain’s best-loved bistro brand to a fresh generation of discerning diners.

Effortlessly combining current French food trends with classic favourites from over a quarter of a century in the bistro business, the new Café Rouge menu represents the finest in freshly-cooked chef food.

Executive Chef Duncan McEwan has spent the past six months creating the new offering which involved him in the close scrutiny of over 25 years’ worth of previous Café Rouge menus. He says: “My team and I spent many weeks poring over the Café Rouge menu archive which was fascinating and inspiring. “We carefully selected the most imaginative recipes of the past such as Confit de Canard and were sure not to overlook our customers’ absolute favourites such as Steak Frites. Added to that a helping of fresh French cuisine and an adventurous snail dish and we were able to create a new bistro menu to excite our loyal fans and many new customers too.”

Some of the must-try items, include:
• Simple salads – Rouge Niçoise , Super Salade (vegetarian)
• Main meals - Moules, Confit de Canard, Poulet Breton, Loup De Mer
• Real slow food - Ragoût D’Escargots, Boeuf Bourguignon, Soupe A L’Oignons
• Classic desserts - Crème Brûlée, Tarte Tatin, Crèpe Aux Fruits, Fondant Aux Chocolats and flourless torte aux chocolats banana
• Café et croissant
• Café et gateau

To complement their new Menu, Cafė Rouge has also collaborated closely with Bibendum, a Wine Merchant dedicated to supplying the finest wines from across the world. Together they have introduced an outstanding wine list featuring a selection of terrific wines that offer great quality and value. Examples include De Castellane Champagne, Alsace Pinot Gris from Jean Biecher and Crozes Hermitage from Paul Jaboulet.

With the brand new menu and wine list now in place in every Café Rouge in the UK for the first time, the company has begun the process of rejuvenating its bistro interiors. Many Café Rouge locations are set to enjoy a makeover and will feature unique details for customers to discover from vintage wine taps to love seats!

Georgia Hall, Brand Director for Café Rouge, says, “We wanted to create a menu which inspired people to enjoy and talk about truly popular French food and wine, at any time of day, just as Café Rouge’s founders did in 1989. This menu represents the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Café Rouge and it’s my sincere hope that our customers love our specially selected signature dishes as much as we do.”
