Having worked with everybody from Eric Morillo to Tom Novy, Abigail Bailey is one of the House scene’s most talented performers. Both a DJ and a singer (and animal lover), AIL caught up with her ahead of an eagerly anticipated performance at Puscha Undercover at Brixton Electric this Saturday.

Hi Abigail, we’ll get straight into it here. Are you looking forward to appearing at Pushca Undercover and have you got any special Pushca memories, whether as a clubber or as a Guest Live Artist?

Hi! Yes I'm very much looking forward to appearing at Pushca – it’s going to be fantastic! I never went to any of the old parties due to a lot of touring but I did go to their amazing re-launch in July with David Morales. I also did a DJ set at the Pushca Halloween private party dressed as Bettie Page! But this will be my first official big singing spectacular at a Pushca party and I can't wait!

What can people expect from your show - we hear there's a new single on its way?

I will be launching my new single which is a long overdue follow up to "Touch me" with Tom Novy. It’s called 'OCD' and also features Swedish producer, Zoo Brazil - who I’m a huge fan of - on production. It's going to be a fabulous show and there'll be a few surprises.

How did you get your start as an artist and when did you get the desire to focus solely on music?

It started from the moment I was born. I just can't help it or stop it, and I guess some people are just born with that drive!

What has been your motivation and what still drives you? How would you describe your vocal style?

I’m driven by many different things. Music is my passion and I have never wanted to do anything else in my life, so I guess when you feel this way that is your drive and motivation! Style wise I'd like to leave that to the listeners but I can say that I like a lot of different music and am a very versatile singer so I don't like to pigeonhole myself!

Of all the accolades/accomplishments you’ve achieved over the years – what would you say has been your proudest moment?

I would say hearing "I Just Cant Get Enough" in the national UK Charts was a very special moment in my life and a day I will never forget (I've got the scars to prove it too)!

Haha. Are there any artists/producers in particular that inspire you? Of the many artists that you’ve worked with – is there one that has stood out the most?

Tom Novy is always a gem to work with but I don't like to work with people that I don't get with on. In fact, everyone I have worked with has been a pleasure in one way or another.

Very diplomatic. How do you like to spend your time when you’re not on stage?

I like to go out and party like the rest of us but I also love to work out and hang out with my daughter Sacha, who is 17, and catch up with friends! I also love animals and love to walk my dog and I guess I'm always going to be a country gal at heart!

What’s next for you?

I'll be releasing some new songs and performing some great shows in the New Year.

And what track should we be listening to as we heard out the door to Pushca Undercover?

Oooh, that's a hard one but I would play 'Good Night Moon' Original Mix by MK and Lee Foss, and out on Hot Creations and a perfect closing track too!

Can you tell us what you love about London?

I love the diversity, the music, the fashion and the people! London is a fantastic place!

Where are your favourite London venues to dance, drink and relax?

To dance I like a variety of venues, anything from Ministry Of Sound to Lo- Profile in Soho! To drink I like, Soho, Angel and Shoreditch. To Relax, well there is no place like home :-)
