This mini sun-wave has sent us into summer mode. All it took was a few sustained days of blue skies and we were on the phone to the venerable DJ Spoony to get his guide to London in the sunshine.

DJ Spoony has been resident at some of London’s best-loved garage nights throughout his career. And following the return of the sun, this week Spoony is part of a revival of his own. He headlines the Back To 95 Legends Of The Old Skool party on Saturday May 4th at Club Colosseum. You can win tickets with our exclusive competition here.

We caught up with the UK Garage legend to find out his top ten tips for when the sun is shining.

Stoke Park Golf Course
I've been a member for 16 years, and it's a beautiful course to play on that's steeped in history. Some big films have also used it for shooting including Layer Cake and Goldfinger. It's a great place to spend the day playing golf or you can people watch and enjoy drinks in The Orangery.

Ducketts Common
It's the park closest to my house, and I often go running there, play softball, or take my daughter to play there. It's relaxing and just what you need on a sunny day.

Alexandra Palace
One of London's best spots to watch the world go by. You sit high up overlooking London. Great for picnics and rounders, and I like to listen to music here and kick back.

The Vibe Bar
Sundays are great on Brick Lane - the people, the buzz and the sights. I often pop into the Vibe Bar for drinks, to people watch and soak up the atmosphere.

Junior's Restaurant - Stoke Newington
I think this is maybe the first real West Indian restaurant in London and it's the best for oxtail, rice ‘n' peas or brown stew fish with hard food. It's excellent value and I've been eating here for 20 years. A bit of Caribbean sunshine to warm the tummy!

Soho
I love the whole Soho buzz. The cafes on the pavement, the bars, the shops and the little restaurants, with all kinds of people enjoying it. I’m often to be found at Zilli Fish restaurant or checking the record shops that are still open.

London Club – Golf
There are two golf courses here and they’re both great to play on and there’s a great atmosphere around the place. The clubhouse is really nice and serves up great food. I usually play really well here, so of course it’s one of my favourite days out when the sun’s shining.

Aqua Kyoto
Great food and drink, especially the sushi and mocktails and it also has the most amazing view of London.

Hyde Park
Another great open space in the centre of London, which is perfect for relaxing and people watching or alternatively getting your mates together for a game of footy.
