DJ Nick Tcherniak’s Guide To Going Out

London is packed with outstanding ways to spend one’s time, but where does a superstar DJ go when he’s off the clock? We asked DJ Nick Tcherniak to tell us.

Signature heavy, groovy house and deep-as-hell Balearic beats have made Nick Tcherniak one of the most sought after DJs on the London clubbing scene. He is the resident at Egg’s monthly Familia party and has played all over the world. But where does a superstar DJ hang out when he’s not making people dance? We caught up with him to get his opinions on London’s best bars, clubs and restaurants to visit.

Bars

Experimental Cocktail Club
Experimental Cocktail Club; it's just got that speakeasy type vibe - the entrance is just a plain black door, hidden amongst the rows of endless Chinese restaurants. You'd never know it was there unless you were looking for it, and once you're inside every cocktail is like nothing else you've ever tasted!

The Boundary
If it’s a nice day this at the top of my list as it has to have one of the best rooftop views in East London. Amazing!

Lounge Bohemia
When you walk down the stairs leading to Lounge Bohemia it’s almost like stepping into the living room of an eccentric old relative with all the old 70’s furniture, Czech novels and teapots on display. It’s pure class, a real find and the most outstanding molecular cocktails –they’re works of art in themselves.

Restaurants

Beagle
Beagle is a new find in Hoxton, outside seating, good food and refreshing cocktails. This will be a regular over the summer for sure.

BKB and Café Boheme
BKB and Café Boheme on Old Compton Street is where I often find myself for a late breakfast or lunch. Watching the characters of Soho go by is always worth the ringside seat!

Crazy Bear
Crazy Bear’s ornate basement cocktail bar is a gem in itself and as a lover of Thai food with its restaurant upstairs this has to be on my list of recommendations.

Clubs

Egg
Egg is where I go out to the most - even when I’m not playing or promoting Familia! It’s all about the music and has some of the best line-ups in town. The new roof Terrace, bigger rooms and awesome sound make this undeniably one of the best places to dance to the freshest Techno and House in London

Loft Studios
Loft Studios has some great line-ups in the really cool space. It has been known to find me finishing off a bank holiday there and letting my hair down on a Sunday after a long weekend!

Where ever I end up!
There are so many possible places I might end up on any given night. It might be a rooftop at Century, Vibe Bar’s courtyard in Brick Lane, a boat party with Leading Astray (Who we can’t wait to join Familia!) or under the lasers in a place that you can’t remember how you got there. There’s always somewhere and that’s one of the reason’s this city is like no other!
