She’s a superstar of London’s gay party circuit, but what would she do if she was running the city?

She’s remixed Beyonce and Madonna, and her DJ credits include London Fashion Week and Manumission in Ibiza. In 2010 she began the hugely successful club night Room Service, which has since been exported to Paris, New York and Hollywood. She’s a superstar of London’s gay party circuit, but what would she do if she was running the city?

If I ruled London, by Jodie Harsh...

“I've never really liked the look of Buckingham Palace that much, it's hardly that regal compared to the palaces in Rome, Paris and Madrid. It could be a sister store to Selfridges, they look quite similar. Maybe the garden could be zone 1's answer to Thorpe Park. Keep the guards with their big hats and guns... they're fun.

I’d make theatre, cinema and Underground tickets for students free.

I would build something along the lines of the High Line in NYC. We don't have anything quite that cool. It would be amazing to have an elevated walkway-slash-garden thing along Oxford Street. Maybe extend the DLR right through the City, that would be so Bladerunner.

The voice of the London Underground is a little Diana-ish at the moment, if I remember correctly. I think we need some real cockney character on there. Alan Carr would be my first choice. There's nothing like a camp queen bitching about delays on the Northern Line to wake you up during the rush-hour commute.

I would ban Katie Price from the streets.

I would put Scottee on the fourth plinth of Trafalgar Square. He'd be happy to sit there for a weekend and call it performance art.

I would impose a tax on stupid people, as Edina Monsoon would say. And marijuana, are we still not there with that yet? Buying a joint should be as legal as buying a double-shot soy latte, but with reverse effects.

I would completely overhaul Soho. Ditch the Prets and the Starbucks, bring back the locals and the real sense of independence. Even just ten years ago Soho felt different - it had so much character and a sense of freedom. It was naughty, a bit dangerous, loads of fun, very London. The sex shops, the clubs, the real cafe culture... There wasn't anywhere else quite like Soho. Now the thrills are limited to a posh cheddar baguette and its businesses are identical to every British high street. It infuriates me, Oxford Street is just a stone's throw away."
