Find A Taste For Foraged With The New Druid’s Botanist Cup Cocktail At Nightjar

This February, The Botanist – the first and only dry gin from Islay – and Nightjar – the third best bar in the world – present ‘Druid’s Botanist Cup’: the newest addition to Nightjar’s award-winning c

Uniting The Botanist and Nightjar’s passion for foraging and experimentation, ‘Druid’s Botanist Cup’ marries foraged ingredients from London’s Haggerston Park with The Botanist gin; the result is a magical cocktail and sensory explosion. The wild landscape and foraged botanicals that embody Islay’s heritage also reflect the ancient mythology that inspired the cocktail’s unique creation.

Incorporating Nikolett Maczo of Nightjar’s Hungarian roots, ‘Druid’s Botanist Cup’ showcases The Botanist infused with locally foraged mahonia flowers and rowanberries – both of which were used in ancient Celtic and Greek tradition. Caol Ila Whisky and Unicum Plum liqueur – a Hungarian syrup, aged with over forty foraged botanicals - help build the spicy, herbaceous cocktail, while damson jam, conifer bitters, bee pollen and lemon offer a balanced sweetness. Garnished with frankincense ‘holy smoke’, the cocktail is presented in a stunning pine cup.

‘Druid’s Botanist Cup’ was born from an exciting competition between five of London’s top bartenders. Having been gifted with a handmade infuser by The Botanist, bartenders were taken foraging in local London parks and used the ingredients found to create homemade, infused cocktails. The competition’s final saw Nightjar’s Nikolett Maczo crowned the winner with ‘Druid’s Botanist Cup’.

Handcrafted and distilled on the Scottish island of Islay, The Botanist is a truly unique gin and a representation of the region’s progressive heritage. Nine classic gin botanicals are augmented with 22 local herbs and flowers, all foraged responsibly by hand by botanical scientists from the hills, shores and bogs of this Hebridean Island. Embedded deep in The Botanist’s DNA, foraging and distilling forms the very essence of the gin’s philosophy, art and pioneering spirit.

With flavour exploration at the heart of The Botanist, why not treat yourself to a ‘Druid’s Botanist Cup’ and discover flavours you’ve never tried before.
