West London locals are lucky enough to have this large, vastly underrated park at their disposal. 13 hectares of greenery provide plenty of wildlife as well as sporting facilities like tennis and basketball courts, a bowling green and a football pitch (these need to be booked in advance). For the youngest members of the family, there is a paddling pool and play areas, while adults might want to walk through the Scented Walled Garden, a beautiful Victorian garden with honeysuckle, lavender and roses among other perfumed species. The council have put a lot of effort into maintaining this space, which was recognised when it was awarded Green Flag status in 2009. The park dates back to the Medieval era, however it was privately owned till 1888 – the name ‘Ravenscourt’ is thought to reference the raven in the coat of arms of a past owner.
