Bermondsey, located in the London Borough of Southwark, is one of the dark horses of Central London. Despite being within a couple of miles of the city centre, Bermondsey has generally remained an unpopular place to live, primarily due to its historically poor transport links. Until recently, the only real option for commuters was London Bridge Station; however, the Jubilee Line extension has now had an effect, offering additional transport options for those in the area.
Bermondsey, over the years, has been a characteristically industrialised region and has seen mass development, over the centuries. During 1836, Bermondsey was the home of the first passenger railway terminus linking Bermondsey with Greenwich.
Bermondsey also lines the Thames for several miles, making it an excellent place to enjoy waterside restaurants and panoramic views, all year round.
