Famous for being the home of the first shopping centre of its size, Brent Cross retains this same ‘shopping mecca’ reputation, today. The shopping centre was opened in 1976 and was located in a strip parallel to the North Circular Road. Shaped in the form of an ‘I,’, two large shops are situated at either end with smaller shops lining the body of the centre. Nowadays, there are many larger centres, but Brent Cross remains the original!
Located in Barnet London Borough Council area, Brent Cross is largely residential, aside from the obvious shops, which means that it is a popular location with commuters. Amazingly, Brent is not located in the London Borough of Brent.
