Finchley

Your All In London guide to Finchley

Famous for being the parliamentary constituency of Margaret Thatcher between 1959 and 1992, Finchley is located in the London Borough of Barnet and is largely residential, although there are some retail areas that are booming.

Finchley is such a large area that it is generally considered in four different sections, north, west, south and east, mainly defined by train lines and roads. Currently, Finchley is actually a large residential area, although it is also home to one of the oldest purpose-built cinemas in Great Britain.

Despite having seven tube stations within the region, they are all on the Northern Line meaning that transport links are not as good as in some other areas. This has kept prices down and has ensured that Finchley remains less crowded than neighbouring counterparts.
