Kenton

Your All In London guide to Kenton

Do you remember the scene in Fawlty Towers were Basil loses his rag (ok, there are plenty) and begins to batter his red car with a branch? It was filmed in Kenton, no less, and while that is not to suggest the area is full of frustrated hotel managers having nervous breakdowns, the leafy suburban streets shown in the episode are characteristic of Kenton. Slightly more desirable than neighbouring Harrow, Kenton has a villagey feel and plenty of parks whilst the centre of London is accessed thanks to the Bakerloo Line. It’s not a hotbed of activity, but it’s a popular location for families and those who don’t desire to live amidst the hustle and bustle.
