Bordering the Boroughs of Camden and Brent, the name Kilburn means ‘church by the stream’ and has become an influential region in North West London. The Roman Empire created one of the main roads passing through Kilburn which was originally called Watling Street. Today, Kilburn High Street follows the exact same path as the old Watling Street.
Modern Kilburn is now well known for its large Irish population, so much so that it is often called ‘Little Eire’ or County Kilburn. There are of, course, many other cultures in Kilburn and the reliable transport links ensure that there is always a good mix of professionals as well as families that have lived there for generations.
