Sitting on the border between Essex and London, Loughton is part of the “Golden Triangle” beloved of footballers, television celebrities and East Enders who’ve made their fortune, however parts of Loughton contain post-war social housing blocks which are completely at odds with the million pound properties owned by the nouveau riche set. The area benefits from being close to Epping Forest, therefore sporting and outdoors activities are well catered for. The high street has a decent selection of shops and a mixture of fast food and more upmarket eateries in the vein of Café Rouge, otherwise the Central Line links easily to the city.
