This suburb in the borough of Kingston is the unlikely home of a large community of Korean expats, the largest in Europe to be precise. Korean food lovers have plenty of restaurants and supermarkets to choose from, but the high street also has branches of all the usual supermarkets and coffee shops. Despite being a short distance away from affluent Wimbledon and Richmond, New Malden is significantly more affordable than its neighbours, making it a popular area for families, first time buyers and commuters into the city. Much of the housing was developed post-war, however there are a few examples of Edwardian architecture which are the most desirable (and therefore most expensive) properties.
