Part of London’s commuter belt, Sidcup is popular with middle class families, attracted by the idea of raising their children outside of the city whilst managing to commute for work. Properties are mostly detached or semi-detached with large gardens; there are plenty of open spaces and the reputation of the local schools is another plus point. The high street has a decent selection of supermarkets, pubs and eateries however there is a complete lack of night time entertainment. Moreover despite the overground which will take you to Cannon Street or Charing Cross during the day, getting back after a late night on the town is likely to involve a hefty cab fare.
