Tolworth is, in case you don’t know, located in the borough of Kingston, south of Surbiton and Malden. Much of Tolworth is residential, with 1930s semi-detached houses, although there is a small shopping centre and some industrial activity. The main landmark of the area is the Tolworth Tower, a 22-storey construction inhabited by offices and designed by the same guy that did Tottenham Court Road’s Centrepoint. Residents and estate agents have a habit of lumping Tolworth together with Surbiton, its more well-to-do and more expensive neighbour, however the local government have embarked on a project to regenerate the town centre and many of its main roads.
