Wapping

On the North Bank of the River Thames, Wapping has undergone rapid development, during the last decade. Situated in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Wapping is extremely popular with city professionals, particularly with those now working in Canary Wharf.

Wapping was largely destroyed during World War Two and the closing of the Docks meant that the area remained vacant for several years. Since then it has become a popular luxury development area and has attracted considerable investment from shops and restaurants tapping into the new found transformation of the district.

There is still some light industry in Wapping, but this is limited and the main focus is now on residential property.
