West Ealing’s Broadway was once a bustling shopping street, however in recent years many of the big stores have closed down and the focus has shifted to Ealing Central. Most of the new additions to the area have been high rise apartment blocks, with the exception of a farmer’s market which was established in 2001. It is also expected that the ambitious Crossrail will link to West Ealing via a brand new station, which will greatly improve transport prospects as there is no tube. The area is home to a multi-ethnic community, and council estates sit within metres of large Victorian and Edwardian terraces which can fetch six figure sums making it an extremely diverse place to live.
