I would just like Jose (New Management)and his team making the Mohawk Spur the restaurant it's suppose to be! I had many bad experiences in the past at this branch but Jose promised me that he has turned things around. On arrival the waiter asked if I would like a Klipdrift and Coke as a drink, I almost had a heart attack! I asked for Klipdrift for 4 years but they never had and now they are asking me. We had starters that were better than what you get at Spur back home and decided I will have a steak and my wife a burger. It was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Just make sure you ask for the burger to be cooked medium.
I must congratulate Jose for putting back the spirit of Spur in this branch and we will definitely back soon!

As a South African I can only say: wonderful to have my favourite family restaurant in London! I really hope fellow South Africans will support this place and make sure it stays here forever.
And to all your non-South Africans out there: why don't you find out for yourself what real South African style food tastes like? The ribs are succulent. The burgers big and tasty. And the atmosphere is casual and theres a nice vibe.
I know I am not objective about this, but I just love it!!

This is a South African based burger bar much nicer than some of the Mc D defying luxury burger bars you get in the centre of london. The folks from Time out might not like it but you should make up your own mind. The food is very nice wih a distinct BBQ flavour, and you do not have to worry any critters served in your salad which often happens in our oh so fashionable luxury burger outlets, the Spur only serves coleslaw. Anyone who has ever been to the Spur in South Africa will love this place. Anyone wanting to have a nice filling meal will also love this. To all those who like chinese food you might as well stay in the West End and eat your ribs there.
Have your say
