Too bad they won't accept widows
My friend, a recent widow therefore eating alone, asked for a table and the staff could not find her a seat in an empty restaurant. I'd rate this as unfriendly service.

I can't believe this place has bad reviews! If I could come here for breakfast every day (I'd suggest pancakes and a milkshake!!) I would.
Not the cheapest place going but definitely worth a visit.
Takeaway is available, downside is opening times are limited. Open til 5pm weekdays, 2pm weekends. Nice, comfortable interior.
If you can't find it, its tucked around the corner from Borough Tube station.

I went here yesterday...NEVER AGAIN
I pointed out to the waiter that £8 for a salad is quite a bit when you get the plate and half of the ingredients are not ripe (and small slithers at that). His answer?
'We've been having some problems with the avocados in the kitchen'
- my response was that if you don’t have the ingredients at an edible standard then you shouldn't serve the food.
He rudely walks off muttering - I'll pass on your complaint.
No mention of a discount (even though half of the dish was not edible) - no manager in sight.
I paid £8 for a bowl of spinach.
He then took about 10 minutes to bring us our change- at which point we were determined that he was not going to be taking a penny in tips.
Food= terrible
service= terrible
pricing= terrible when taking into account the service and food! many better cheaper places in the area- how do they keep going?

I work round the corner and hadn't even noticed it was there before today when I went for lunch with very low and completely unjustified expectations.
It's a great space, well designed and layed out with good food at reasonable prices and a really good range of choices even for vegetetarians. The waiter was friendly and helpful and the whole experience one I look forward to repeating. Only downside is if you're in a great hurry - it took us one and half hours for two courses and coffee. But then it did only cost £15 a head, drinks included.
I'd definitely recommend it.

We were really excited to go to Joe's after passing it every day and hearing good things about it. The service, however, was terrible. From the moment we walked in we felt like we were an inconvenience. The manager was rude to us and yelled twice. Our waitress faked niceties and then belittled one of the customers after he asked a question, and then removed plates before people had finished eating. It shocked me and upset me greatly because we had such high hopes. I would not recommend eating there if you have any hope of good service. And I wish I could say the food made up for it, but it was average. You saddened me very much Joe's.
