All In London

Mark Hix has taken over the Tramshed building, originally constructed in 1905 and created a unique restaurant and art gallery. It's all about steak and chicken at Tramshed with a simple menu; seasonal sharing starters, followed by chicken or steak.

There's a mezzanine floor which gives diners the opportunity to enjoy elevated views of the restaurant for 40 guests and also perfect view of the Damien Hirst artwork commissioned especially for the space by Hix. Naturally it depicts a cow and a cockerel in keeping with the menu! In addition, there is a bar offering cocktails and bar snacks throughout the day, and the Cock and Bull gallery in the basement with discovered and undiscovered talent on display on a four-week rotating basis.

Mmmm. Steak.

Steak is great and London has so many places that do it well but if you’re after a little pizzazz to top off your meat eating then Tramshed is the place. When you think contemporary fine dining hall this is the type of place you imagine. Spacious, Edwardian warehouse? Check. Damian Hirst Bull and Rooster in formaldehyde? Of course. You get the picture. At Tramshed it’s chicken or beef but it’s the Glenarm sirloin that we’re to rave about. The produce is as premium as it comes and the artwork lifts the whole place to restaurant as status symbol.

Meat!!!

Mark Hix’s Tramshed has a simple premise: the main course is either chicken or steak. Expect meat of the highest quality; juicy beefcarefully selected for its marbling, and incredibly succulent, flavoursome chicken. As a sidenote, Damien Hirst is responsible for the artwork, which includes a new take on his famous cow in formaldehyde installation.
