My partner and I went on a Sunday afternoon at 4 and had the buffet for £14.90 - fantastic value - service was excellent. We were not rushed at all, we were told we could order more dishes at any time. I advised them of my chilli alergy and they were very careful to ensure that I didn't get chillis and my partner could still have his spicy dishes. All the food we had was really good quality and the portions were perfect. Green tea was one of the best I've tasted too. We're taking friends with us for dinner tommorrow night - I only take friends and family to good restaurants.

Went for the buffet menu £14.90 (all you can eat). Ordered starters for 4 and one of my sons liked the crispy lamb but it was a very small portion, so he only got a tiny amount.
When it came to the main course, he wanted a starter portion of it again. I told the waitress it was only for him & we'd just had a conversation about him being a very light eater. In fact, we'd asked whether it was worth doing the buffet menu for him at all....
The only other thing he wanted was plain chicken balls. So they were the only 2 things he ordered for his main course. When they brought the crispy lamb, they clearly bought a main course amount for 4. It was a larger portion than they'd bought for the starter.
Consequently, half of the lamb dish was left & 4 chicken balls.
The manager put £5 extra on our bill as we "over-ordered". I can understand doing that with drunken people who have eyes bigger than their bellies but we seriously thought we would eat all we ordered.
If I'd have known they would do that I'd have tipped the remnants into a carrier bag. Our bill came to £100 but my husband told him that we would not be back and would not recommend them either. Prior to that, we'd all been talking about coming there again & recommending to friends as the food is very nice. It was embarrassing to be treated like that & left a nasty taste in the mouth. (No pun intended!)
They are ruthless people and I'd advice you to leave this restaurant well alone!

Bore off "james" , by judging your review you are in my personal opinion a extremely hard person to please. By your comment " most chinese food is reheated from goods bought in Chinese wholesalers" clearly shows your very snobby. As I am a Chinese person myself I clearly know that the is not the case , alot of preparing has to be done to make a dish. Clearly If it was that easy as just "reheating" everybody would be doing it and no one would be going out for chinese meals and takeaways.

Let me preface this by saying that although I eat out on a frequent basis (at least once a week)in restaurants of varying degrees of quality, I have never been compelled to write a negative review. Unfortunately this will have the ominous notoriety of being my first.
I visited on a Wednesday evening as I was in the area and wanted something quick and convenient. I had no great expectations as this food is all fairly similar in standard being mostly just reheats bought from Chinese wholesale outlets. The deal offered was eat as much as you like for £14.50pp, not a great deal of money but not outstanding value for food of this ilk either.
So to my order.... Opened with starters and a beer each for myself and my girlfriend. Spring rolls, a quarter of duck with pancakes and some lettuce wraps (not exactly pushing the eat as much as you like theme to it's extremities). The food arrived and was unspectacular but entirely within my expectations, however the duck was quite dry and somewhat unpleasant to eat.
Unfortunately this is where the problems started. The proprietor came over to clear the plates and enquired as to why I did not eat the duck. When told that I did not like it, her response was that I would have to pay full price for the duck on top of the standard fee for the meal, apparently this was to stop people from ordering more than they wanted in order to exploit the offer. I explained that this was not the case for us as my order was small enough to demonstrate that I was in no way attempting to exploit the offer. She became quite rude at this point and asked me why I ordered a meal that I did not like, I explained to her as politely and delicately as I could (I concede to being a little vexed at this point) that I do enjoy duck, but I do not enjoy dry, poorly prepared duck.
I requested the bill at this point(no pun intended)and was finally offered an apology. By then damage done, the bill was presented. Full Price. I have never been treated so badly. Don
