Chopstix Noodle Bar

i work near south kensingtion station, this chinese fast food restaurant is always my first choice for lunch. i go there almost every day in the week. service is great, food is always fresh. the container looks like small, but it is actually a lot. amazing value.

Absolute bliss :)...yum!!!...the egg fried rice and sweet chilli chicken was a winner for me...well worth it

I am currently staying in London for the weekend. I very much enjoyed the food here and the service. The reviewer before stating about the 5 added extras must be a bit idiotic (and probable obese). The only downfall with the restaurant is small area within the bar to sit down and eat.

At Chopstix you can either have 2 items in a box for £5 or 3 items in a (bigger) box for £5.50. It is called a noodle bar, but you can also get rice with your meal instead. The other "items" are all types of chicken cooked in various styles (sweet and sour, caramel, Korean BBQ, black bean sauce, etc). The is also a potato curry, which my vegetarian friend tells me is very nice. The food is salty, greasy and by no means fine oriental cuisine - I would probably term it "Chinese fast food". Despite that, I find myself coming back to the place rather regularly. It's exactly what you need when you're heading home after a late night at the library or to keep you going through a long afternoon of lectures. The place itself is fairly small, but there's usually enough table space to sit down and eat even at the busiest of times. There's even a toilet, which they don't seem to mind you using even if you're not a customer (despite what the sign on the door says).

So, to conclude, it's not exactly a place to go if you're looking for fine dining, but definitely somewhere to consider if you're looking for a cheap place to eat in South Kensington.

This place has what seems like a very good offer: you get a carton of noodles plus one small main portion eg sweet and sour chicken for £4.50 - not too cheap, but here's where it gets good. You can then get each extra main for 50p per item. Sounds good? No it's not. I went there and wanted the £4.50 meal plus 5 extras for 50p each, but when I ordered it the lady said that the extra portions would all have to fit into my box that already contained noodles and one main. I suggested that there would be no room in the box if it was to be full of noodles and that the extra portions I ordered should go in a separate box. I don't think this was unreasonable. However, the owner decided that this was such an unreasonable request that he shouted 'get out of my restaurant' at me, quite aggressively, and then proceeded to take photos of me with his mobile phone. This guy obviously has a temper problem and I left, without my cunningly disguised rip-off meal.
