Visited Royal China, Harrow 14th July, apart from no table linen, food was really tasty and was happy to return which we did 22nd August, did we walk into a different restaurant?
The service was awful, i have never been a Chinese restaurant where you do not get complimentary prawn crackers, even when ordering a take away you always get prawn crackers on the house. Sad to say that Royal China have dispensed with that tradition, we got charged for prawn crackers.
The food this time round was dreadful, luke warm, bland, the shredded crispy beef was shredded chewy beef, no birds nest as advertised.
What a public display of penny-pinching, it was truly pitiful, charge for prawn crackers, no table linen, not even a napkin, only a small paper thing. One has to ask, if they are penny-pinching in public, what penny-pinching are we not seeing? one can only speculate, could explain only being awarded a 4 on the green sticker????
We shall give this place a wide berth.
Royal China-Harrow-on-the-Hill, which seats 70 people, has an elegant décor with contrasting rich golden hues, plus striking red and black features.
