Housed in the former St Giles library, Shanghai Blues is an elegantly decorated restaurant serving delicious Chinese cuisine, including dim sum at lunchtime which double as starters in the evening.

Take a hike MSG, this is the good stuff...

Shanghai Blues is a lesson in style, from the clubby bar area to the Eastern glamour of the dining room. Particularly recommended are the dim sum and the adventurous desserts like jack fruit cheesecake and custard and bean paste rice cake with coconut.

I was surprised when I went here with my mum, I expected it to be too posh but it wasn't. The food was great with lots of taste and variety, especially the dim sum!

Chinese restaurants have graced London for decades and there are a good number of seriously good restaurants and none are in China Town. Shanghai Blue stands out, starting off with a nifty name. As you walk into the restaurant, you'll realise that this is no off the mill or off the cuff restaurant that serves second rate dimsum by day and crispy duck by night. The decor is classy, with touches of modern and classic Chinese. The food is excellent and not the usual menu you'd expect. Here, you can choose you tea and drink it the proper Chinese way. Everything is special and as good as the best even Hong Kong can offer. This is real and authentic as Chinese dining gets in London.

The interior of the restaurant is really nice with what feels like authentic (very smart) oriental surroundings... The food was also really good, particularly the vegetarian options (which they cooked specially for me off menu). If you like chinese food you'll love this!
