The same team that run Arbutus opened Wild Honey in 2007. The menu has a melange of European dishes but still manages to be harmonious; it changes according to the season, but a recent menu featured sheep’s ricotta gnocchi, pigeon with spaetzle and pork belly with snails Bourguignon.
This restaurant exudes charm: there’s a fireplace, an onyx bar and cosy booth seating. As with Arbutus, all the wines are available by the 250ml carafe, and there is a well-researched selection from all over Europe as well as the New World.

A group of us - 'ladies who lunch' of a certain age - enjoyed an excellent (fixed-price menu) meal and couldn't fault the food, the service or the setting (blond-wood-panelled, comfortable and just the right degree of stylish).
We hadn't met up for some time and really appreciated the privacy of the 'compartment' we were seated in and found ourselves able to exchange news without too much external noise, even though this was on a Friday. We stayed for nearly three hours, were served by a series of impeccable waiters and downed some gorgeous wine.
Can't wait to go back - need to book well in advance, especially now that the place has just received The Observer's no.2 award. Bon appetit!
