Went there with my family last night, we all loved the food, and warm environment. The young stuffs that serves the food is absolutely friendly and welcoming. He gave my kids chocolates and they still can't get over that! We will definitely be visiting again and recommend this to everyone I know! 😊

OMG! Lived in London until 3 years ago, was back down visiting, staying in the Holiday Inn Commercial Rd, used to the really poor Indians in Glasgow these days, knew anything would be an improvement, used to eat Brick Lane etc, and Bengal Lancer Kentish Town, all good, then we ordered from the Red Chilli, jaded as I say from those rubbish Glasgow curries, then it came, prawn puree, lamb jalfreizi, pilau rice, popadoms and relishes and naan bread, every single corner of it perfect, the onion salad perfect, the flavours perfect, the textures perfect, not bells and whistles, just perfection.

I am disgusted by the way I have been treated by some of the employees in Red Chilli.I have had to wait for two and a half hours for food that was tasteless and luke warm. The person on the phone was hugely patronising, undermining, refused to listen to me and insulting. No responsibility was taken.

Top quality food every time.

I have been in London on business for two months now staying locally to this restaurant, it was the first place I ate when I got here and I never looked back, not only is it great eating in, unlike some establishments the quality does not suffer when ordered for a takeaway.

Consistently good and would definitely recommend, very friendly staff and the best Indian food I have eaten.

Recently stayed at the Travelodge 150 yard away from this restaurant. After seeing a show in the West End we got back and approached the door at 11.25 pm - they were closing at 11.30 - But the young waiter saw us and offered to stay open for 45 minutes if we wanted a meal. We took up his offer and probably had one of the best flavoured Indian meals we've ever had. Service excellent, and a free liquer thrown in at the end. Be hard to beat this one.(Thanks also to the Chef who stayed on)

Will definetly go back when we visit London again!

Have been going to Red Chilli since defecting from the nearby Empress..

Good service and food - would recommend you pick from the "specials" menu as the "standard" curries tend to be a little on the bland side. If you don't like strong flavours, these are a good pick, but the specials are excellent. They will prepare the dishes as you like them and will adjust the meat used as requested. Have never had a bad belly from a curry here. For those of you that do not like your curries too "westernised" i.e. sweet and perfectly presented, this is perfect!

They do a great Biryani, which too many Indian restaurants get wrong :)

The other thing to mention is the atmosphere - the decor and ambience here is great, the layout is good and you never feel like you are sat in a bad place with waiters/other diners pushing past you. Really welcoming and comfy place to have a meal.

Only negative is that sometimes the waiters can be a little surly, but the main guy is a real sweetie and very attentive.

In summary, a great little spot often overlooked, that really hits the spot on a Friday night!

I live around the corner from the Red Chilli and I go there weekly with my partner. The food is exquisite and the staff are lovely and always throwing in free drinks as were regulars. It is incredibly romantic and I always have a really good time there. Food is fresh and served piping hot there is a great choice on the menu too. The first review is a load of cr*p I think they have the wrong restaurant.

We went to this restaurant about 2 years ago. We live outside the UK and came across this page today when I was trying to find the restaurant where we had such an enjoyable meal last time we stayed in this area. The original post is clearly bogus and should be removed or ignored. Our meal, service and value were all very good and we will be returning soon.

red chilli
the service is a disaster all the staff are running around like headless chickens
and it was not even that busy
save the mobile phone calls until you go on break guys
the food was ok but it was warm and not hot
sort it out chaps i guess you want to make some money at some point
but the bill was more than expected
keep the bill in line with the food and service (rubbish) and you might have a result

I also do not agree with the original postig and doubt it's authenticity. This was a great experience, catered for a medium size group at really short notice, and the food was excellent! The service was of a very high standard with very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

I concur with not one of the sentiments of the previous review and am extremely skeptical of its authenticity. I suspect it may have been written by a rival which might explain the unconvincing fabricated 'English' surname together and its poor grammar indicating that English is (hopefully) not the author's first language.

In any case I love Red Chilli. The food is of a consistently excellent standard whether eating in or taking away. The staff are always friendly, courteous and helpful. Service is quick & I love the atmosphere inside the restaurant. Eating there always feels like a meal out rather than just 'grabbing a curry.' Don't bother with Brick Lane with this gem so close.

i do not know where to start. we enter the restaurant a cloud of somke hits us look around and see two of the waiters smoking behind the bar.we ask for a table they give us one near the bar. papadoms arrive stone cold, beers warm,.
ok we think it cannot get any worse then the main course is served 1 hour and 20 minutes later.rogan josh had a ketchup like flavour, the lamb bhalti had a layer of oil floating on top,,
we eat what we can and ask for the bill.84.25 for three person we wish the bill was as bad as the food and service.
