My wife and I stopped in for dinner at the La Perla at 128 Sussex Garden London on on the evening of the 1st October 2008. It is in an attractive location and the restaurant attractive, as was a lovely young French waitress from Nantes France. Her language was no problem and house menu seen quite adequate.
The problems lies with the quality of the food we received. My wife ordered the sirloin off the menu of the day and I ordered the risotto with peas. The steak was so tough my wife was unable to cut it with a knife nor was she able to bite a piece off the meat when she finally did manage to get it cut.
My risotto was boiled rice with a can of tomato soup mixed in with green peas. Their was enough salt in this dish salt down a cargo of cod.
We told the waitress of our discontent, paid and left.
Here I would suggest you enter at your peril.
Avoid at all cost.
La Perla is situated within the Delmere Hotel and serves a variety of dishes with a distinct Italian flavour from A La Carte and Table D'hote menus. They also serve a full English breakfast as well as a choice from a generous continental buffet.
