After reading the reviews was a little hesitant about going to eat at Prezzo. It was an extremely cold night and we were going to see Dreamboats and Petticoats nearby.

We did not want to walk to Covent Garden so decided to eat at Prezzo as it was near to the theatre. The restaurant was not full when we arrived but soon had other clients.

We need not have worried. I asked the waitress if she would sit us in a warm spot we would eat there. She sat us right in front of the oven and it was indeed warm, lovely. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and a guy we think was the manager had some banter with us. He was gorgeous and he certainly wasn't trying to impress us; we are ladies of a certain age!!

Nothing was too much trouble, the food good, piping hot and although we waited a little time was freshly cooked.

If we had one small complaint, we had a merrangue bombe I think it was called and it was just served a little lopsided in a bowl. If it had been on a plate with just a little sweet syrup drizzled around it would have look so much more professional, however it tasted good!

Nothing wronge with this Prezzo, give them a try!!

Called this restaurant to make a reservation for special birthday meal for my husband and children pre theatre, left name, phone number etc -- when we arrived, no table booked. Advised there would be a minimum 20-minute wait for one to be available. Because we were going to the theatre, we did not have time to wait, that's why I went to trouble of booking in the first place. Why bother? Why indeed -- I certainly wouldn't bother again. The restaurant decor looked nice, would have liked the chance to rate the food. Unfortunately Prezzo fell at the first hurdle -- customer service. Shame.

I read a rating posted only last week after a friend had booked a table and it made me apprehensive. I needn't have worried. The meal was as good as we'd have expected. It was a full restaurant on a Saturday evening, but the service was as fast as you could have expected for the type of food.
I am not doubted that the person reviewing did have a bad experience, but our service was nothing like that, the beer was cold in a cold glass, not that I'm quite that fussy. Judging that there was no evidence of complaints anywhere else in a crowded restaurant, I'd assume that that reviewer just happened to have a waiter with attitude - we certainly had none of that.

Where could I start?
Service in this particular Prezzo is awful! The restaurant was nearly empty, only 2 or 3 tables, but it still took over quarter of an hour to get our drinks, not talking about the half an hour we had to wait for 3 garlic breads for our starters.
I ordered 3 Peroni beers and also if I could have them in Peroni glasses and I was looked at as if I just swore or something.
The waitress brought normal tiny glasses and I asked again if I could have cold peroni ones like the table next to us had and she answered in an annoyed tone that those ones "were cold". Obviously she did not have a clue of what a peroni glass was as she came back with the exact same tiny glasses just slightly colder.
Just left it for mission impossible and had my lovely peroni pint bottle(which costing £6 a bottle you'd think you'll be able to have it in a nice glass)in a skunky tiny plain half pint glass. Anyway, that was not the worst part.
The food was ok,or at least I thought until I found a massive chunk of hair in my pizza, nicely mixed with the tomato sauce and cheese. It put me off eating and although I was offered another pizza I was not really hungry anymore after that.
They did not offer any complementary drinks or anything so I ordered another bottle of peroni to share with my mum,and guess what? It was at room temperature! A £6 warm beer!
I asked her to please bring me a cold one and she just said, "It's the only one we have left!" Unbelievable! So I just said I didn't want it warm and then, they brought 2 cold small ones.. It was just one disaster after another. When I asked for the bill, They had charged absolutely everything except the hairy pizza and on top had added a 10% discretionary service charge(£10), what a Joke! I've worked in a restaurant for 3 years and I was sure that kind of service did not deserve a tip at all, and obviously did not pay it. I normally tip but definitely not here!
Just think twice before eating in this place. I won't, Nev
