If only I had read the reviews first. Terrible restaurant. Filthy toilets, chipped glasses. Indifferent staff. The main course was hot but I needed a microscope to find the bacon. No offer of black pepper or cheeses with the pasta. Asked for the bill, it was scribbled on a piece of paper and was informed the card machine was not working and we had to pay by cash!!

As we left the staff looked away and wouldn't make eye contact. Of all the restaurants in the area we had to pick this dump. How could they improve? Close.

Myself and partner were heading to Bella Italia but couldn't sit outside. We decided to try The Italian Restaurant. The service was slow and disinterested. Wine - good. Mussels and calamari starters - good, but we had to ask for cutlery. Main course, awful! Requested cutlery AGAIN. Lasagne was swimming in oil, very little beef served without any side salad, nothing, in a burned and chipped dish. Pizza was dry and solid, with little cheese, served with 4 olives, 4 tiny anchovies and 11 capers for £9! To top it off, we couldn't pay by card, there was no prior warning we had to find a cashpoint

I forgot to add to my previous comments that the ladies toilet was absolutely disgusting and I am quite sure that Health and Safety would probably close them down if they saw them.

We went to The Italian Restaurant last evening, 3rd March, prior to the cinema. We asked whether the food could be served within the hour and were told yes. Four of us each order a simple starter and then a steak. After half an hour we asked when the food would arrive and within minutes the steaks arrived. When we asked about the starters we were told they would be coming soon!!! Obviously we said not to bother as we don't normally have soup after the main course. The steaks were awful, about the worst I, and all of us, have had. We asked for medium and they were like rubber and very overdone. The waitress spoke hardly any english which added to the problems as we don't think she understood anything of what we asked for. All in all, absolutely dreadful and we would never, ever venture there again. I wouldn't advise anybody to go there. On top of all of this the bill came to about £80.

on hoildays from ireland and visting london when friends decided to look for some were to eat when the woman outside this place who was very nice invited us 5 in so we ordered our food and waited when it came the garlic bread for our 3 yr old was like a waffer while the fries were half cooked and swimming in bowl of oil.
then came all our food the pasta had lumps of bacon which when cut into were half cooked ,we ordered 3 pizzas 1 had a teast of fish of it the other 2 had no sauce on base and no cheese (on it for a cheese pizza ) we complained to the woman who invited us in and told her this was the worst meal ever served to a customer and we are not paying for it so eventually they agreed to let us pay for just the drinks.
as a person who eats out all the time this place should be avoided at all cost and i think the food saftey board should investergate this place .

Popped in for a quick lunch as looked reasonable value for a two course lunch for £7-95.
Would have been ok apart from the quality of the produce - garlic bread was like a giant crisp, Tomatoes used for the Tomato and mozzerlla were very poor supermarket types and whilst my mushroom pizza had plenty of mushrooms on it they were all the same and tasteless.
The cup a soup I just had was much more tasty!

The toilet was discusting and very very obviously not had a good clean for a while.

Chirpy staff and looks ok, just very let down on quality. Nothing really Italian about this place Im afraid to say.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever eaten in. The service was disgraceful. We were waiting for a ridiculous amount of time to order , get our drinks, get our food etc. The starter and the main course came together for me and nothing for my husband, who when complained was told they didn’t have the starter he ordered like we were stupid! When we complained we were told the manager would be right over - no one ever came. When I complained again on the way out to the wait staff and the manager they said absolutely nothing.

All i can say is that i will never visit this place again, basically, £58 for two to eat was laughable, the food was rubbish. Mcdonalds do a better menu

We dined at the restaurant last Sunday (26/7) and it was one of the worst experiences we have had. The starter portions were too small, and the wait between starter and main course was 40 mins, despite asking were our food was twice. One other customer (at least)was having the same experiences with them cancelling their order whilst we were waiting for ours. Serice is very poor with no one seeming to care that customers were waiting for food.

The layout is like a school dining room with table too close together, set out in rows and you can not have a private conversation sitting cheek by jowl with other diners.

We popped in here for a meal before going to the theatre. The tables were clean and the waiter brought out drinks and ciabatta quickly. Disappointingly, the bread was stale and had obviously been microwaved. This is never a good sign, expecially when one of the main dishes involved prawns, so we paid for our beer and left - after having to tell the waiter twice that we were not going to pay for stale bread! Listen up, restaurant owners: When I pay to eat out, I expect the food to be fresh. It's not rocket science.
