This place is amazing! I'm surprised to see only one review here so I created an account just to spread the very good word about the Vecchia Roma.

I return and return to fantastic greetings, great service and amazing food. The reason why this restaurant continues to reside in Hampton court is that they have all the ingredients of am amazing traditional Italian restaurant.

The price is competitive and lunch is a bonus at 12.25 for 2 courses and the a la carte is really special

Highly recommended and lots of other great views out there

Best restaurant I know

Thanks happy eating!!!!

We have lived near Vecchia Roma for a few years. One of us visited on the way home with a friend after the Hampton Court Flower Show and was treated very poorly and served equally poor food. Not believing that a restaurant that often seems full could be so bad, we decided on the spur of the moment - having had some happy news (about health) - to go together. We had a wonderful laugh! We had five servings between us, not one of which was properly cooked and several were barely edible. I was told that shell in every mouthful of the crab in my first course is an occupational hazard for diners. Luckily my steak was swimming in an unsophisticated cream gravy - that masked the equally unsophisticated (ie awful) cooking. I didn't risk a pud - my wife did. Shame that the Carte d'Or was icy and the apple pie stodgy. The wine was ok - just twice what it was worth. We remain bemused about why this restaurant is ever busy. It feels very 1970s - decor, sweet trolley - maybe it's retro-chic. At over £100 for two we paid London prices for wet-English-summer seaside cooking. But nothing could rain on our parade that day. I walk past it daily - but will never walk in again. Why mark it 2 for service? Well the staff were condescending, but not actually rude. You do have to be fair, after all.
