My father and I were on a trip over in London and decided to take in the local atmosphere. We decided to come here as we both decided we wanted Italian. In short, the food is fantastic, the customer service is abysmal. We already spent a few days in London and every where we went had great customer service, except this one. The waitress obviously had contempt for house, I even caught her rolling her eyes as if we were wasting her time. If it wasn't for the terrible customer service, I would easily give this at least an 8/10 but the service here was so bad, I feel I never would go back again.

I don't usually give negative restaurant reviews. Short waitress with the ponytail who looked after us last week: lovely & smiley. Food was delicious. In contrast: Yesterday's waitress with short black hair... snapped at us about not ordering food, got my friends' drink order incorrect, tutted & almost threw down the plates, clicked/waved her fingers at us without even turning her head when we asked to pay by card & couldn't even be bothered to wait with the card machine, so we did it ourselves.

I'm so glad I hadn't seen all of the negative feedback until after we went there! I wonder if they've mended their ways and deserve another try? We had excellent food and good service a couple nights ago! The portions were nicely sized (and we finished every bit!) and the prices were low for being in Central London. I'm actually going to order in from there tonight because I can't stop thinking about the penne with bacon, red pepper, and cream sauce I had from there (and bites of the tastiest chicken breast I kept stealing from my husband) :)..mmmm

Had an excellent meal in this restaurant last night, best spaghetti con frutti di mare I've ever had. The atmosphere was lively and service very good.

Ripped off by hidden cover charge,

We ate in this reastaurant and chose the £7.95 special offer only to find out AFTER we had eaten that a hidden charged of £1.75 per person was levied for the pleasure of being in their premises. Then had the cheek to ask for a service charge!!

The service was abysmal and the waitress was surly and when we queried this charge thing became unpleasant so we paid it and left. We would never go there again and never recommend it to anyone.

I have never met worst customer service, than in La Piazza. Waitresses keep customers waiting as talking loudly about their personnal life. Here you can really feel that you are undesirable quest, just disruption for personnel.

When they finally run by your table, they throw something to your table even slowing their speed (drinks, meal or bill). They do not have time for you even the restaurant were almost empty. Lack of normal manners is obvious as service in London in usually so nice and polite.

These people are like three monkeys: they don´t hear, they don´t see and they don´t speak with addition: they don´t smile.

But what really is amazing is the fact that if someone collects so bad reputation, why the owner of this place is not doing anything to correct things as loosing plenty of money because of them!

The worst service ever experienced at any restaurant on the planet. The waitresses must have received special training on how to be rude - surely it is not possible for the level of rudeness experienced by us to come naturally. Overall the food was average but hidden at the bottom of the menu was a cover charge! I felt like I was in an episode of Fawlty Towers. We have eaten in some wonderful restaurants in London but this certainly is hot one of them. Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant.

This would have to go down as the very worst service I have ever received in any restaurant on the planet . The waitresses were exceedingly rude - They must have gone out of their way to achieve the heights (or depths) of terrible client service. The food was very ordinary as well. Do Yourself a favor and find another restaurant to dine in.

We first ate here on a visit to London 3 years ago and loved it. Returned for the food which did not disappoint, but we were unhappy with the "cover charge" of £1.75 per person. (We have a family of 5, so we paid £8.75 just for the privilege of sitting at a small table.) When we asked what the cover charge was/was for, we were just told it is something they do now.

I don't understand why they don't simply charge more for the food if they are not making ends meet? The cover charge is poor customer service, in the sense that customer service involves making the customer feel welcomed and well-served.

We had a long wait for a very mediocre meal. Had we not ordered extra vegetables the portion size was inadequate. Very expensive...including a cover charge of £3.50 (a surprise!)
We enquired what this was for.....it was for eating there!!!!! What a cheek,we will not be doing that again.

Our evening was ruined by the attitude of the staff at this restaurant.
The waitress didn't know about the food or wine they were serving.
After a 45 minute wait, our meals arrived...bar one. I had already politely mentioned we had to get to the theatre. One of our party was bolting down his meal on his own - after we had finished.
I mentioned this to the Manager and queried the 'charge' of £1.75 each on the bill. No apologies, no proper explanation. The attitude was 'It's happened...get over it!'
Another waitress was quite aggressive..raising her voice at me across other customers eating.
I have never experienced such rudeness and poor service...ever. In this present climate, with restaurants closing down, you would think they would want people to come back. NEVER!

I would have given zero but the site wouldn't let me.
The service was cold as was the restaurant receiving deliveries constantly opening the single door to the cold London air.
The pizza base was doughy and soggy and the toppings tasteless.
My Wife ordered a red wine which I am sure had been watered down and I was charged over £2 for a flat coke. Like the other review here they have the nerve to charge a £1.75 PP person cover charge. No where is this on the menu and when I asked about it she told me it was for the olives and bread they “give” you when you sit down. A small bowel of olives and a piece of sliced bread, you wouldn’t mind except for the fact that it’s rubbish. I suppose that they charge cover charges as they would rarely get a tip because the place is rubbish. I’m sure they survive on passing trade (like myself) as it’s hard to imagine anyone wanting to return to eat there (without a self harming disorder). I have eaten in Italian restaurant all over the world and while there are many fine ones in London, this one is not.
I also would rather go to McDonald’s instead...

The food they serve leaves much to be desired. We had Cannelloni, which looked quite well but proved to be tasteless, and a pizza that was burned.
When I asked the waitress about the pizza she claimed simply that it's the way they serve it there.
The service over there is mediocre and they have the nerve to charge a 'cover charge' for it, which was nowhere to be found in the menu.
I'd rather go to Mcdonald's instead...

Quite possibly the worst meal and restautant I've ever had the misfortune to enter.
Save your money and go for a kebab instead.

During a recent return visit for my wife and I and after purchasing no less than 6 pricey drinks,my wife ordered Trout, but was served a "fillet of Trout" instead.Speaking to the female Manager proved distrastrous. Her attitude was hostile, defensive, arrogant and rude.
The Manager's reply,to mine and my wife's complaint about the Trout order was,"If you don't like it,then leave it!"
Earlier, while savouring our drinks before the main meal, then that Manager was badgering us into ordering food before we were ready to eat. and went so far as to prematurely hand us menus, then pretend to take them away, and instead, throw them back onto the table saying angrily,"If you change your mind!",th
Have your say
